Deceleration Valve: Adjustments

    Dash pot delay time can be adjusted by loosening locknut and screwing it away from throttle stop to decrease deceleration time or towards stop to
increase deceleration time.

1.

Warm engine up and check that CO reading and ignition timing are correct.

2.

Disconnect and plug vacuum advance and EGR hoses, if equipped.

3.

Actuate throttle lever and check that dash pot rod contacts stop at 2400-2600 RPM for non-turbo models; 2100-2300 RPM for turbo models.

4.

Race engine and check that engine speed drops to idle speed within approximately 3-6 seconds.

5.

Reconnect vacuum advance and EGR hoses, as applicable.
