Inspecting Cars with "Short Style" Fuel Rail

Measure the distance between the fuel hose and the bracket for the air conditioner compressor. The distance must be 5/8" (15-16 mm). If incorrect,
adjust the hose to achieve this distance by loosening the hose securing hardware at both ends and re-tighten. Use two wrenches, one to turn the bolt
or nut and the other to secure the fuel rail or fuel pressure regulator. The hose must not have any unusual bends or twists which can lead to hose
damage and it must not rest against any engine bolts, bracket or other components.
Replace the hose and the seals only if hose damage exists. Start the car and check for leaks.

To aid in the inspection of "short style" fuel rails, a bolt with a 5/8" head size may be positioned between the bracket and the edge of the hose end
fitting.

Grind off a portion of the bolt to enable it to fit the width of the opening made by the bracket and the compressor bolt.

Stamp the Modification Plate
