LOCTITE IGNITION ROTOR

(SEE NOTICE A - TURBOS F1000001 - F1010515)

Remove the distributor cap and by hand remove the rotor. If it cannot be removed, refit the distributor cap. No further inspection is necessary and
you may move to step no. 8. If the rotor can be removed by hand, proceed with the following repair procedure.

After removing the rotor, remove the plastic protection cover. Cut out of heavy paper a round disc with an outer diameter of 3 in. (75 mm) and a
center hole of approx. 5/8" (15 mm) and place over the distributor shaft. This prevents contamination of internal distributor parts.

Clean the distributor shaft and inside of rotor with Locquic Primer T. Do not allow cleaner to enter the distributor.

Let the parts air dry for at least 5 minutes. Do not dry with a rag.

Remove the paper disc and refit the plastic cover.

5.

Apply Loctite 609 evenly around the shaft.

6.

Refit the rotor and distributor cover.

7.

Allow the vehicle to sit for at least 1/2 hour. Refer to the instructions on the bottle of Loctite for set-up recommendations.

8.

Mark the campaign plate, numeral 8 in box A4. Refer to the instructions in S.I. 10/84-717.

NOTE! Cars which did not need modification may already have a mark in box A4. If so, do not disturb the mark.

M85 Turbo Automatics up to F1006131 may have a defective oil cooler line.

a.

Inspect hose 75-43-713 (Figure 1, hose no. 2) between the right front oil cooler and the oil thermostat housing for correct material
specification and marking. Replace the hose if it has a dull finish and is marked "OLNH". (The correct hose is shiny and is marked
"OLNHT".)

Material required, if necessary: hose 75-43-713.
