Place the detached oil hose above the hose between the thermostat and the left side of the transmission housing (hose no. 3) with its 180~
tube end in front of the connecting hoses to the oil cooler. See Figure 2. On vehicles below VIN Serial No. F1003827, hose no. 3 must first
be loosened and the tube end rotated so its pre-formed bend drops downward as shown in Figure 2. In order to rotate hose no. 3 this way it
may be necessary to loosen the banjo connection at the transmission end of the hose.

Fasten the hoses one on top of the other with an extra tie strap as shown in Figure 2, position 4.

Check and adjust the routing of the plus cable to the starter as follows:

1.

Check that the cable is not too taut between the clamp at the engine compartment beam by the battery tray and the clamp on the bell
housing by the dipstick tube. If necessary, loosen the clamp at the beam and pull some cable from under the battery.

2.

Check that the cable is clipped to oil cooler hose no. 1 with a white "stand off". If not, check that there is at least 0.4 in. (10 mm)
between the cable and the dipstick tube bracket (Figure 2). Adjust as necessary at the clamp by the dipstick tube. Note: On Turbo
automatics this clamp should be attached to the rearmost hole of the flat bracket on the primary housing.

Check that the cable does not rest against the wastegate actuator housing.

Re-install the loosened and removed parts and install tie straps where they had been used previously. Warm-up the engine and check for
possible leaks.
