Constant Velocity Joint Boot: Service and Repair

To Replace the Gaiter (Boot)

Note:  Take care to remove all dirt and dust particles.

Undo the clip on the driver-cup end of the gaiter.

Remove the shaft assembly.  See: Axle Shaft/Service and Repair

Remove the inboard universal joint.

Undo the clip at the shaft-end of the gaiter and pull the gaiter off the shaft.

Fit a new gaiter.

Pack the gaiter with 60 g of Mobil GS57C grease.

Fit the shaft assembly.  See: Axle Shaft/Service and Repair

Fit the universal joint.

Fit the clip at the driver-cup end of the gaiter.
