DRAIN PLUGS OF 4-SPEED AND 5-SPEED GEARBOXES
OIL LEVEL
The gearcase is provided with a filler pipe and dipstick. If the gearcase is filled with the specified quantity of oil, the level on the dipstick will be
between the MIN and MAX marks.
When filling an empty 4-speed gearbox (after overhaul), the oil level will drop when the car is travelling, since about 3 dl of oil will be transferred
to the primary chaincase. When filling a 5-speed gearbox in the same way, remember to fill the primary chaincase with 0.3 litres of oil and the
gearcase with 2.7 litres.
Top up with oil when the level has dropped to the minimum mark or below. Overfilling will cause stiff gear-changing when the gearbox is cold.
