Oil Pump: Service and Repair
1.
Clean pump area.
2.
Remove crankshaft pulley retaining bolt. Retain crankshaft by installing locking device, tool No. 8392987 on flywheel ring gear.
3.
Remove pump retaining bolts, then remove pump.
4.
Reverse procedure to install, noting the following:
a. Apply a suitable lubricant to gear wheels.
b. Install ring gear with mark on face visible.
c. Install new sealing ring in pump body groove, then install dowel.
d. To facilitate positioning gear on driving plate, pull pump gear slightly outward.
e. Ensure oil pump is primed with oil prior to installation.
