Fuel Pressure: Testing and Inspection
System Pressure Testing

CIS

CIS System:

1.

Connect appropriate fuel pressure gauge between the control pressure line of the fuel distributor and the outlet line of the warm-up regulator.

2.

Remove fuel pump relay and energize pump by bridging cavities 30 & 87.

3.

Bleed pressure gauge and set valve to open position, read control pressure.

4.

Set valve to closed position, read line pressure.

1.

Disconnect control pressure line from fuel distributor.

2.

Connect pressure gauge between fuel distributor and control pressure regulator line, Fig. 10. On all models, the safety function is governed by a
pulse sensor in the pump relay which is activated by the ignition pluses.

3.

Disconnect fuel pump relay and connect a jumper wire across terminals 30 and 87 in relay holder.

4.

Bleed pressure gauge by repeated opening and closing of valve with the pressure gauge directed downward and fuel pump connected.
