Oil Pan Leakage Repair Procedure

NOTE

Never use the old-type gaskets with the new oil pans, or the old-type pans with the new gaskets.

1.

Remove the transmission skid plate or protective bars.

2.

Remove the transmission drain plug and drain the ATF.

3.

Remove the old-style front and/or rear pans and gaskets.

4.

Allow the ATF to drain thoroughly, overnight if possible.

5.

Thoroughly clean the sealing surfaces of any remaining gasket material.

6.

Check the sealing surfaces for flatness using a straightedge. If necessary, remove any high spots by lightly filing the surface. Thoroughly clean the
