Reinstall the drain lug using a new sealing washer P/N 87 08 398).

11.

Reinstall the protective bars or skidplate:

a.

To install the old-style skidplate without dimples on transmissions with the new oil pans, four spacer washers (P/N 80 73 249) must be
installed to provide the additional clearance needed (Figure 3).

b.

If a damaged old-style skidplate needs to be replaced (not a warranty item), use the new skidplate, P/N 40 07 449 (Figure 4).

12.

Fill the transmission with the required amount of Type F ATF.

13.

Start the engine and check the ATF level.

14.

Verify that there is no leakage from the front and rear oil pans. Check for any indication of leakage from the torque converter seal and side covers.
Repair if necessary.

Warranty Information:

For warranty claims, use the following failure coding/labor operation numbers:

NOTE

If both gaskets are being replaced at the same time, you still need to submit two claims, one on each failure code. However, the total time for both is 1.1
hours. Please use straight time on one claim to make total time equal 1.1.

Front (torque convertor housing) cover gasket leakage: 44043-50-0- 01-01 Labor Op. # 44043 (0.8 hour)

NOTE

Time for labor Op. # 44042 is changed from 1.1 hour. (Pg. 4-25 of 900 Failure Code/Flat Rate Manual). DCS dealers update from labor operation
number tables.

2.

Rear (main case bottom) cover gasket leakage:  44042-50-0-01-01 Labor Op. # 44042 (0.9 hour)
