Correct adjustment of the convertible top mechanism is important to minimize the top cover wear that can occur when the top is folded down (Figure 1).
A procedure and a specification for measuring the adjustment of the top stack stop bracket was introduced in Service Campaign 313 (S.I. 09/88-1076).
Beginning with VIN L7010557, this adjustment specification has been changed in production to move the down position limit stop 6 mm upwards (71
mm instead of 77 mm).

This new adjustment specification should be utilized in the following cases:

When the top fabric is replaced (for any reason)

When Service Campaign 313 is performed

^

At PDI on cars up to VIN L7010556

^

Any time fabric wear is noticed

In order to update your copy of the S.I. for Service Campaign 313 (S.I. 09/88-1076, Bound Supplement 7A, Sec. 8, P 109), Saab will soon distribute a
correction sticker with the new top adjustment specification.

When a Convertible is in your dealership for a service appointment, be sure to check the Campaign Plate on cars up to VIN J7024537. If location C4 has
not been stamped, completion of Service Campaign 313 may be required.

Except for the bracket adjustment specification, all other procedures may be carried out according to the campaign PSI.
