The routing of the gear indicator light wire for all 900 Automatics, M83 and M84 up to VIN Serial No. E1035913 and E2017522 should be checked and
any subsequent wire damage repaired.
This step should be performed in conjunction with the next service.
Inspection details:
1.
Lift the cover for the gear selector and check the routing of the green wire. The wire (GN) must not be pinched when first gear is selected.
2.
If the green wire is routed above the gear selector mounting, re-route as shown here. The wire should be behind and below the mounting.
Repair any wire insulation damage that has occurred with electrical tape.
NOTE:
The time to do this check (and rerouting) takes 3-5 minutes.
