1.

Check the distance between the positive lead and the metal end piece of the upper air conditioning base. If this distance is less than 3/4" (20 mm)
proceed to the next step. Otherwise, go to the next modification.

Disconnect the negative battery terminal.

3.

Disconnect all wires from the distribution block and unscrew the block from the wall.

Fit a cable clamp (P/N 79-69-363) around the positive battery cable (see drawing) and secure the clamp using the bolt which secured the washer
fluid container. Position the clamp so that the bolt is facing the distribution block.

5.

Re-mount the distribution block, but turn it around so the block cover hinges at the bottom.

6.

Re-connect all wires to the distribution block. The positive battery lead is to come out the side and the other wires will exit at the top.

7.

Close the distribution block and reconnect the negative battery terminal.

Step 3 - Securing the Cable Harness to the Firewall
