Coolant Temperature Sensor/Switch: Specs & Info (1992)
Coolant Temperature Sensor/Switch (For Computer): Testing and Inspection
1. Disconnect electrical connector and remove cover from ECU assembly.
2. Connect a suitable ohmmeter on to ECU terminals 13 and ground.
3. With engine coolant temperature at approximately 68°F, ohmmeter reading obtained should be 2600 ohms. With engine coolant temperature at
approximately 212°F, ohmmeter reading obtained should be 180 ohms.
4. If readings obtained are not as specified, disconnect electrical connectors from temperature transmitter. Connect ohmmeter across temperature
transmitter terminals and check resistance.
5. If resistance readings obtained are still incorrect, replace temperature transmitter.
