STIFF OPERATING STEEL SUNROOFS

APPLICATION: 9000 MODELS WITH STEEL SUNROOFS
On 9000 models with steel sunroofs, up to chassis numbers K1015226 and K2008474, a stiff operating sunroof may be experienced on some cars. This
problem can be rectified by fitting thinner seals to the sunroof.

Sealing Strip Replacement Procedure

1.

Remove the sunroof as per the 9000 Service Manual, Section 8, subsection 830.

2.

For cars with a one-piece sunroof seal:

a.

Only the rear section of the seal needs to be replaced. Starting from the existing joint (Figure 1), ease the old strip off from the back of the
panel while pushing the new seal strip, 40 99 537, into place as you go.

b.

When you get to the end of the new seal, cut the old seal squarely to ensure there is no gap at the new joint (Figure 1).
