Coolant Leakage At Water Pump

Application:
9000 with 2.0L Engine

When attempting to diagnose a water pump leak, it is extremely important to determine where the coolant is leaking before performing any corrective
action and/or replacing the pump unnecessarily.

In addition to hose connections, leakage may occur

^

at the shaft seal. This will result in coolant being evident around the weep hole. See Figure 1-3.

at the connections between the by-pass pipe (see Figure 1-1) and the water pump (see Figure 1-2).

9000 models with 2.0L engine up to 1990
