Trunk Lid Wiring Harness Replacement Procedure

1.

Remove the trunk lid upholstery panel.

2.

Remove the trunk floor This will enable you to pull back the carpeting under the left rear speaker and gain access to the 8-pin plug.

3.

Disconnect the 8-pin plug. Remove wires 1, 2, 3, 5, and 7 as per Figure 2. Cut the tie wrap/clip that secures the harness to the inner fender.

4.

Remove the plastic covers from both ends of the trunk lid hinge tubes.

5.

Remove the damaged harness from the car. It may be easier to remove the license plate lamps in order to disconnect the harness.

6.

Install the new harness in place of the old one.

7.

Insert the terminals from the new harness into the 8-pin plug (Figure 2).

8.

Reconnect the plug. Secure the harness to the inner fender with the tie wrap/clip.

9.

Ensure that all functions that are powered through the harness perform properly.

10.

Reinstall the trunk lid upholstery panel, the trunk floor and the plastic covers on the trunk lid hinge tubes.

For warranty repairs, use failure coding 37151-32-0-01-01. Labor allowance is Operation No. 37151, 0.9 hour.
