Use a regular warranty claim as in all Saab Service Campaigns. Follow the claim instructions given below. No additional parts or time may appear on the
claim.

10395-00-5-02-01 Replace hub nuts or 10395-04-3/4-02-06 Replace hub nuts & one wheel bearing or 10395-04-5-02-06  Replace hub nuts & two wheel bearings

Hub Bearing Assembly

*Labor Allowance: Replace hub nuts - Use Labor Operation #10395 (0.3 hour) or
Replace hub nuts & one wheel bearing - Use Labor Operation #10395 (0.3 hour) and add 0.5 hour in straight time. or
Replace hub nuts & two wheel bearings - Use Labor Operation #10395 (0.3 hour).

*Includes allowance for Loctite material used.

Repair Procedure

1.

Remove the hub cap and tighten the wheel hub center nut to 198-210 ft.lbs. (270-290 N-m).

Jack up the car and rotate the wheel. Check for any binding in the bearing. Remember that there may be some drag from the brake pads and
transmission.

If binding occurs or there was a noise complaint the wheel hub/ bearing assembly (P/N 89-52-996) must be replaced.

If the bearing is OK, remove the old nut, clean the threads of the hub shaft apply a few drops of Loctite 242 (blue) and install a new nut. Tighten to
198-210 ft. lbs. (270-290 N-m).

NOTE:

Early cars have a nut with a separate washer. When replacing such nuts with the later design, discard the washer as well as the nut.

If bearing replacement is necessary, refer to P. 774-1 of Section 7 of your 9000 Workshop Manual.

3.

Stamp the Modification Plate.

The modification plate must be stamped after the car is inspected and modified according to these instructions.
