SUBJECT:

REMOVING AND INSTALLING FRONT WHEEL HUBS                 ISSUE: 08/86-868 NEW PROCEDURE

APPLICATION: SAAB 9000, M86-
As a running change, Loctite 609 is now applied to the splines of the front wheel hubs on the Saab 9000. This is valid from VIN Serial No. G1021278-.

As a result of the use of Loctite, it is now necessary to use a puller when removing front wheel hubs.

Effective immediately, all Saab 9000's should be treated with Loctite 609 whenever the hub is removed and refitted or when installing a new hub.

Loctite 609

P/N 02-06-037

Loctite Primer "T"

P/N 02-06-045

The required Loctite and Primer T is available from Saab or may be purchased from your local jobber.

Removal/Refitting Directions:

1.

After removing the necessary hardware (See Service Manual), fit Puller P/N 87-91-287 and Puller Legs P/N 87-91-303 (150 mm long) to the hub
to aid in removal.
