Before fitting a new hub or refitting the old hub the splines must be thoroughly cleaned with Locquic Primer "T" (P/N 02-06-045).

Apply a few drops of Loctite 609 to the splines and fit the hub. Apply Loctite 242 to the threads for the nut and install the nut. Tighten to 198-210
ft.lbs. (270 - 290 N-m).

The Loctite must be allowed to set up for one hour and the car should not be driven during this time.

Important Note:

This procedure is also valid for cars affected by Service Campaign 514 (See S.I. 03/86-829). This means that in addition to the
Loctite 242 being applied to the nut, Loctite 609 must be applied to the splines of the hub as well if the hubs were removed.
