Operation
The temperature gauge shows the engine coolant temperature.
When the ignition switch is set to the drive position, temperature gauge 47C will be supplied across fuse 13 and distribution terminal +15. The other
terminal of the gauge is connected to earth across coolant temperature transmitter 45.
Changes in the coolant temperature will affect the resistance of the transmitter, and the gauge will thus show the prevailing engine temperature.
Fault-tracing hints
The temperature gauge will be energized when the ignition switch is set to the drive position.
1. Check fuse 13 and check that the supply to it is live.
2. Check that the supply to the temperature gauge is live.
3. Check transmitter 45.
4. Check the connector, wiring and earth connections.
Resistance reading for temperature transmitter at 90°C: 46.9-55.5 ohm
