Oil Pump: Description and Operation
Oil pump
The oil pump is a gear type with one gear wheel and an eccentric ring gear. The pump is mounted on the timing cover and is driven by a hub mounted
on the crankshaft.
The oil pump reduction valve is situated in the timing cover and returns excess oil to the inlet side of the pump.
