Throttle damper (dashpot)
Checking and setting
To change retardation time, slacken the throttle damper's locknut and screw the damper away from the stop on the throttle lever (shorter retardation
time) or towards the stop (longer retardation time).
1 Warm up the engine and check that the CO content and ignition timing are correctly adjusted.
2 Connect a tachometer and adjust the idling speed.
3 Rev up the engine to 3,000 rpm and, using a stopwatch, check that it returns to idling speed in 4 ± 1 seconds.
