Operation

The seat-belt and ignition key warning system is fitted only on cars for USA, Canada and Japan.

The warning system reminds the driver that he has not fastened his seat belt, or that the key is still in the ignition switch when he leaves the car.

The system includes warning relay 82, which has a built-in buzzer. When the ignition switch is in the drive position, terminal 15 on the relay will be
connected to supply +15 across fuse 13.

Seat-belt warning

When the ignition switch is in the drive position, the warning relay is also supplied (+54) from fuse 3, via seat-belt warning lamp 72.

If the seat belt is not fastened, terminal GF of the relay will be earthed by driver's seat-belt switch 70. The warning lamp will then light up and the
buzzer will sound. When the seat-belt buckle is inserted into the lock, the switch will open and the lamp will be extinguished.
