It prevents shifting into reverse above a certain speed and blocks the fluid supply to clutch B and brake D. Valve function is controlled by
governor pressure and system pressure.

In position 1, the valve prevents up shift to 2nd by leading system pressure to shift valve 1-2, which is thus blocked in 1st position.

When manually downshifting from 2nd to 1st, the valve prevents downshift to 1st above a certain speed by blocking system pressure to brake D.
2ND Lock-Up Valve
Valves are illustrated in their positions when the selector lever is set to neutral.
In position 2, the valve prevents up shifting from 2nd to 3rd as system pressure is led to shift valve 2-3, which is thus blocked in 2nd position.
When manually downshifting from 3rd to 2nd, the valve prevents downshift to 2nd above a certain speed by blocking system pressure to brake C'.
3RD Lock-Up Valve
Valves are illustrated in their positions when the selector lever is set to neutral.
In selector lever position 3, the valve blocks pressure supply to shift sequencing valve 3-4 and thus also blocks governor pressure to shift valve 3-4. Up
shift from 3rd to 4th is thus impossible.
If the vehicle is already being driven in 4th gear, downshift to 3rd will take place immediately as soon as the selector lever is moved to position 3 as
governor pressure to shift valve 3-4 is drained via shift sequencing valve 3-4.
