Brake Fluid Pump: Service and Repair

1.

Remove hydraulic unit, refer to HYDRAULIC UNIT.

2.

Remove pump delivery pipe from pump, then plug port in pump unit.

3.

Release catch and unplug electrical connector.

4.

Disconnect pump inlet hose from pump.

5.

Remove securing bolt from front of pump unit. When removing washers, note their position for assembly reference.

6.

Lift pump unit out of rear mounting, then remove pressure switch.

7.

Reverse procedure to install, noting the following:
a. Install a new O-ring, then torque pressure switch to 15-19 ft. lbs.
b. Position washers in order they were removed, then install securing bolt.
c. Bleed brake system, refer to Brakes and Traction Control/Brakes/Service and Repair.
d. Switch ignition on to ensure brake and ABS warning lights go off.
