Noise from Fuel Damper

Application:
1990- 9000 with B234 engine

As detailed in PSI 10/91-0145, a new fuel damper, P/N 41 64 232, was introduced as a service measure to correct complaints of fuel pulsation noise.
There are two versions of this new fuel damper

Version I

With screw coupling, to be used as a service fix for vehicles with pulsation noise in the interior at idle (see Figure 1-1)

Version 2

With "pine-tree" connection used on the production line and introduced as a running change from VIN N1021205 (not available as spare part). (See
Figure 1-2.)

NOTE:
If a new design damper as fitted on the production line ("pine-tree" connection) must be replaced, the fuel line will have to be cut and an adapter fitted
before the new "service" damper is installed. The operations involved are described below and in this bulletin.
