Dear OWNER:

This notice is sent to you in accordance with the requirements of the National Traffic and Motor Vehicle Safety Act. Saab Automobile AB has
determined that a defect which relates to motor vehicle safety exists in certain 1992 and 1993 model year Saab 9000 models. Our records indicate you
are the current owner or driver of such a Saab. We want to thank you for your loyalty and urge you to read this safety recall notice carefully.

Please see the enclosed attachment. It indicates the precautions to be taken until you can bring your Saab to your dealer. The attachment also contains an
explanation of the problem and the specific repair work which will be performed on your Saab.

We urge you to make an appointment with your authorized Saab dealer as soon as possible after April 11, 1994. to alleviate this concern. That is the date
by which we expect dealers will have their initial supply of the needed parts. Of course, there will be no charge for this service.

Saab appreciates your cooperation and understanding regarding this recall. We and the dealer will do our best to minimize any inconvenience. Saab cars
have long been designed with a firm commitment to innovative engineering and safety. This is an isolated Situation and we assure you that our standards
will be upheld long after your Saab leaves the showroom.

OWNER INFORMATION ATTACHMENT: SAAB RECALL NO.284 

I. What is the defect?

Cracks can develop in the two (2) rubber hoses that connect the fuel tank with the plastic pipes which go to the fuel filler housing. The vulcanization of
the hose rubber was changed by the supplier making the hoses less resistant to cracking where the hose clamps are tightened down over the hose. (Please
see diagram) If either of these hoses develop cracks, a fuel leak could result.
