Avoid filling the tank completely. It is advisable to keep the level below 3/4 full.

Check under the right rear of the car. These hoses are located inboard of the right rear wheel. Look for any stains or other indications of gasoline on
the outside of the hoses.

Should you notice a gasoline order while driving or while parked, then discontinue driving as soon as it is reasonably safe and possible to do so and
contact your nearest Saab dealer or Saab Roadside Assistance (1-800-766-7222 for 1992 9000's and 1-800-852-9001 for 1993 9000's).
II.
What are the safety risks?
If a gasoline leak does develop from a cracked hose, a fire could develop in the rear of the car. Should you see or smell smoke or any other indication of
a fire, pull over to the side of the road as soon as it is safe and possible to do so; promptly shut off the ignition and evacuate the car and do not attempt to
re-enter or re-start the car. Notify the nearest Saab dealer or Saab Roadside Assistance as soon as possible.
III.
What is Saab going to do?
Saab Cars USA, Inc. has made arrangements with its authorized Saab dealers to remedy this defect without charge to you, beginning on April 11, 1994.
We urge you to make an appointment with your Saab dealer to have these hoses and clamps replaced as soon thereafter as conveniently possible. Please
bring this letter with you on the day of your appointment.
The dealer will replace the hoses with ones with the proper rubber processing and the clamps with new style clamps that have a protective inner sleeve.
While this procedure takes from 20-35 minutes to complete, the dealership may need to keep your car somewhat longer because of the flow of work in
and out of their service department.

Saab's Customer Assistance Center is available to assist you in resolving any such problem and may be contacted toll free at 1-800-955-9007. You may
also submit a complaint to the Administrator, NHTSA, 400 Seventh St. SW, Washington, DC 20590 or call the toll free Auto Safety Hotline at
1-800-424-9393 (Washington, DC residents may call 366-0123), if you believe that Saab Cars USA, Inc. or any authorized Saab dealer has failed or is
unable to remedy this defect within a reasonable time, which is not longer than 60 days after you first bring your car to your dealer after April 11, 1994.
