Charge Air Bypass Valve: Testing and Inspection
Checking the Bypass Valve
Tool:
- Pressure/vacuum pump 30 14 883
1 Disconnect the vacuum hose from the bypass valve.
2 Connect pressure/vacuum pump 30 14883 and build up negative pressure in the valve.
3 Check that the diaphragm is intact. If it is not, the negative pressure (vacuum) will be lost.
4 Repeat points 1 and 2, but pump up a degree of overpressure.
5 Disconnect the pump.
