Pressure Transducer: Testing and Inspection
1.
On 900 models, remove pressure transducer, connect suitable air pump to hose fitting, and connect ohmmeter to transducer terminals.
2.
On 9000 models, remove lower lefthand instrument panel and disconnect electrical connector from APC control unit. Connect suitable air pump
with pressure gauge to hose from pressure transducer, then connect ohmmeter across black/white and green/red wire terminals in the APC
connector.
3.
On all models, ohmmeter should read 5-13 ohms at atmospheric pressure.
4.
Apply 14.4 psi pressure to transducer with pump, then gradually reduce applied pressure to 8.7 psi, while tapping transducer lightly with hammer.
5.
Ohmmeter should read 83-93 ohms at 8.7 psi.
6.
If readings are not within specifications, transducer is defective.
