Mount the knob on the gear lever by tapping the top of it carefully with your hand (or a light rubber mallet), Figure 10.
NOTE
During installation of the flanged driver, make sure that the stop on the driver is no more than 1 mm above the detent on the gear lever housing.
Checking the Operation of the Gear Lever
Check the gear lever operation as follows:
1.
Slide the boot up on the gear lever.
2.
Check the lateral detent for 5th gear is effective by moving the lever firmly and with reasonable force against the detent, Figure 11.
3.
The flanged driver should not lift and allow the lever to pass the 5th gear lateral position and enter reverse.
4.
Move the lever to the right against the 5th gear lateral detent. Check the position of the detent sleeve, Figure 12.
5.
The upper edge of the black plastic stop must not be more than 1 mm above the detent on the gear lever housing.
