Speedometer Gear, A/T: Service and Repair

Due to different designs, there are several ways to remove the speedometer drive

Removal

1. Remove the speedometer cable or the electronic sensor from the speedometer drive.

First remove any bracket from the electronic sensor.

2. Types:

-

Design 1: Use a screw driver to press up the toothed ring.

-

Design 2: Tap the locking pin out of the gear case.

Design 3: Undo the screw securing the speedometer drive.

3. The speedometer drive can now be removed.

-

Remove the drive from its sleeve.

-

Remove the O-ring and seal from the sleeve.
