Antenna Mast: Service and Repair

Remove the power antenna from the car.

Undo the bolts holding the antenna tube and pull it out.

Connect the antenna motor to a 12 volt battery and wait until the motor has stopped with the antenna in the raised position.
Then carefully pull the antenna tube gear rack out of the motor.

Press the new gear rack into the motor with the teeth towards the motor.
Apply a little grease to the gear rack.

Reconnect the motor to the battery while carefully pushing in the gear rack.

Note:  Connect the battery's positive supply in stages to facilitate the rolling in.

When the entire gear rack has been rolled in, disconnect the battery.

Install the antenna tube.

Important:  Make sure that the antenna tube is turned the right way.

Reinstall the antenna in the car.
