Subject:
SRS Warning Light Illuminating
Application:
Certain 1995 900 and 9000 Models
(See Below for specific VIN Information)
It is possible that on some cars the SRS warning light activates and fault codes are registered without any fault in the system. In these cases, the system is
functionally unaffected and fault free. This is caused by a calibration error in the diagnostic routine within the ECM.
If one of the codes listed below is registered, and is of the intermittent (I) type, the airbag ECM must be replaced with an updated ECM. NOTE: If the
fault is a permanent (P) one, follow the procedure found in Service Manual 8:6 Airbag.
All ECM's in stock are updated with no change to the part number. An updated ECM has production number "95Txxx" on the label. The "xxx" should
read "131" or higher. See Figure 1.
Cars Affected:
1995 900 models within VIN Serial No. Ranges: S2024309-S2044618
1995 900 Convertible models within VIN Serial No. Ranges: S7017695-S7024174
