Power Steering Pump Overhaul

DISASSEMBLY

1. Remove servo pump.
2. Press in the end cover using a puller tool and remove the circlip through the hole in the pump house.
3. Remove the end cover by carefully knocking the pump casing against a vice or similar until the cover comes loose.
4. Remove the O-ring in the end plate.
5. Remove the compression washer and the end plate.
6. Remove the O-ring in the pump casing.
7. Remove the circlip on the pump shaft.
8. Remove the pump shaft with pulley.
9. Remove the rotor, vanes, pump ring and the inner end plate as a unit.

10. Remove the pump shaft seal.
11. Inspect the parts for any damage or wear.

ASSEMBLY

1. Fit the pump shaft seal. 
2. Fit the O-ring in the pump casing. 
3. Position the rotor, vanes and pump ring together in the pump casing. Also position the steering.
4. Fit the pump shaft and its circlip.
5. Fit the end plate and compression washer in the pump casing.
6. Fit the end cover O-ring.
7. Fit the end cover and press it in using a puller. Place a sleeve between the puller and the end cover.
8. Fit the circlip.
9. Install servo pump.
