Shift Cable: Adjustments

Removing/Adjusting

Undo the two screws on the front of the selector lever and lift the handle from the rod.

Set the selector lever to position 1.

Undo the screw and remove the gear indicator cover.

Undo the nut on the front of the selector lever.

Set the transmission to NEUTRAL.

Set the selector lever to NEUTRAL and tighten the nut.

Tightening torque: 8 ± 2 Nm (5.9 ± 1.5 lbf ft)

Refit the gear indicator cover and check the position through the opening in the cover. There should be play in positions P and 1. If there is no
play, adjust the position of the selector lever.

Check the adjustment of the selector lever cable in positions N and D. Play should be the same in both positions.

Fitting

Refit in reverse order.

Left-hand drive cars (LHD):
The plastic spacer which angles the selector lever towards the driver should be fitted on the right-hand side.

Right-hand drive cars (RHD):
The plastic spacer which angles the selector lever towards the driver should be fitted on the left-hand side.
