The outside temperature sensor consists of an NTC resistor whose resistance varies with temperature. The sensor is voltage fed with 5 volts from pin 35
on the control module and is grounded on pin 28 on the control module. The control module registers the temperature by measuring the resistance of the
thermistor.
When the ignition has been switched off for more than 5 minutes, the temperature indicated by the sensor is immediately displayed. When the ignition
has been switched off for less than 5 minutes, it is the temperature before the ignition was switched off that comes up on the display.
To prevent an erroneous outside temperature being displayed, when for example driving in a traffic jam, change of the value displayed is limited to 1° C
per 40 seconds interval.
On the other hand, when the temperature is dropping, the displayed value is updated as normal, once every second.
