Cruise Control Switch: Description and Operation
The Cruise Control system is controlled by means of switch 141.
The different positions of the switch are as follows: ON: The ON position is to the left of the OFF position.
In the ON position, current is supplied to terminal A of the control module and the CRUISE lamp lights up.
TIP: Between the ON and OFF positions is a position called TIP.
When the Cruise Control system is activated (ON) and in operation, the CRUISE lamp goes out to indicate that the switch has been moved to the TIP
position.
In the TIP position, no current is supplied to terminals A, B or C of the control module and the Cruise Control system is disengaged but the preselected
speed is retained in the control module's memory. When the switch is released and springs back to its normal position, current will again be supplied to
terminal A (same as in the ON position).
OFF: Further to the right is the OFF position.
In the OFF position, no current is supplied to terminals A, B or C of the control module. As long as the ignition is not switched off, the predetermined
speed will be retained in the memory (same as in the TIP position).
The OFF position is the same as a locked TIP position.
