Wheel Bearing: Service and Repair
Front Suspension

1.

Loosen hub center nut and wheel attaching bolts.

2.

Raise and support front of vehicle, then remove wheel.

3.

Remove hub center nut and thrust washer.

4.

Remove brake hose from retaining clip, then remove caliper and position aside.

5.

Remove locating stud, then remove brake rotor.

6.

Gently push in on driveshaft, then remove four hub-to-steering spindle attaching bolts.

7.

Remove hub and backing plate. Wheel bearings are an integral part of the hub assembly. If the wheel bearings are defective, hub assembly
must be replaced.

8.

Reverse procedure to install, noting the following:
a. Ensure slot in hub faces upward.
b. Torque hub-to-steering spindle bolts to specifications.
c. Torque caliper bolts to specifications.
d. Torque hub center nut to specifications.
