9. If correctly installed, the Belleville washer should rest on the gear case and should deflect when the pump body is pressed.
CAUTION:

There are two types of pump cover.
^
When installing a pump cover with cast lugs, the new type of torque converter must be used.
^
The new type of fluid pump was introduced from transmission number 16850.
10. Secure the partition plate using the 8 cylinder screws.

Make sure that the pump rotates freely by turning using fluid pump centering tool No. 87 91 725, or equivalent.
Wrench size = TORX socket TX 27
Tightening torque: 10 Nm (7.3 ft. lbs.)
11. Loosen the brake band and make sure that adjustment is correct.
12. Install the torque converter housing gasket and housing to the gear case.
13. Insert torque converter using grips tool.

Secure the torque converter using retainer tool.
14. Install the transmission.
