Changing the lock cylinder, center console glove compartment

Cars with passenger airbags have a lockable glove compartment located on the center console.

Open the flap and leave the key in the lock.

Lever apart the lock cylinder and belt tongue with a screwdriver.

Pull out the lock cylinder and release the belt tongue.

NOTE :  The belt tongue is destroyed and must be replaced.

Install a new belt tongue in position.

Insert the lock cylinder. Note that the belt tongue secures the lock cylinder in position.
Check operation.
