Drive Belt Tensioner: Service and Repair

REPLACEMENT 

1. Release the tension from the belt tensioner by turning the belt tensioner pulley forwards in the car using a 15 mm wrench. Remove the belt.
2. Remove the upper part of the generator air intake.
3. Remove the belt tensioner.
4. Install the belt tensioner and tighten mounting bolt to 40 Nm (30 ft. lbs.).
5. Refit the upper part of the generator air intake.
6. Release the tension from the belt tensioner by turning the belt tensioner pulley forwards in the car using a 15 mm wrench. Install the belt and check

the position on all pulleys.

7. Refit the engine covers.
8. Start the engine for a short moment, switch it off and check the position of the belt on all pulleys.
