Variable Induction Control Actuator: Service and Repair
Vacuum Valve (Outer Flap)

To Remove

1. Remove the intake manifold and resonating chamber.
2. Disconnect the vacuum valve's vacuum hose.
3. Release the valve's control arm from the flap.
4. Remove the two valve retaining screws.
5. Remove the vacuum valve.

To Fit

Fit in reverse order.

IMPORTANT:  After refitting, it will be necessary to check and/or adjust the kickdown cable. This is done with special tool 87 92 459.

Checking The Vacuum Valve

1. Remove the engine cover.
2. Disconnect the vacuum hose from the vacuum valve.
3. Connect a pressure/vacuum pump.
4. Generate a vacuum. The valve should now be activated.

To Fit

Fit in reverse order.
