Variable Induction Control Valve: Service and Repair
Outer Flap

To Remove

1. Remove the intake manifold and resonating chamber.
2. Remove the flap's two retaining bolts.
3. Remove the flap from the intake manifold.
4. Release the vacuum valve's control arm from the flap.
5. Undo the two retaining screws and remove the valve from the flap.

To Fit

Fit in reverse order.

Lubricate the flap's O-ring with a little petroleum jelly (Vaseline).

IMPORTANT:  After refitting, it will be necessary to check and/or adjust the kickdown cable. This is done with special tool 87 92 459.
