Crankshaft Position Sensor: Service and Repair

The crankshaft position sensor is located just beside the oil filter.
    
To Remove

1. Remove the intake manifold and resonating chamber.
2. Unplug the sensor's connector.
3. Note how the wiring is run and where the cable tile securing points are located. Then remove the wiring.
4. Remove the sensor retaining bolt.
5. Remove the sensor. Note the position of the O-ring.

    
To Fit

1. Clean the seat for the sensor and fit the O-ring in the seat. Lubricate the O-ring with a little petroleum jelly (Vaseline).
2. Refit the sensor.

Tightening torque: 8 Nm (6 ft lbs).

3. Run the wiring and secure it with cable ties and clamp.
4. Plug in the connector.
5. Fit the intake manifold and resonating chamber.
