9. Remove the dip switch bracket.

10. Remove the acoustic insulation from under the facia.
11. Remove the floor duct.
12. Remove both the screws on the universal joint between the steering column shaft and the intermediate shaft and pull the universal joint off the

splines of the steering column shaft.

13. Remove the circlip on the lower end of the steering column shaft.
14. Remove the transverse bolt together with the handle and the washers.
15. Push up the steering column shaft through the lower bearing, together with the steering wheel lock, out of the steering column assembly

IMPORTANT:  The two parts of the steering column are combined and should under no circumstances be drawn apart.

OVERHAUL

1. Turn the key to unlock the steering wheel lock.
