2. Pull the shaft out of the assembly.

IMPORTANT:  Under no circumstances can the splined joint be separated.

3. Remove the circlip and the top bearing.
4. Undo the two socket head screws and remove the ignition switch.
5. To remove the lock cylinder, turn the ignition key to the "1" position, press the locking tab and withdraw the cylinder.
6. Push the lock cylinder into the bore.
7. Fit the ignition switch in position and tighten the two socket head screws.
8. Refit the top bearing and the circlip.
9. Insert the steering column shaft into the steering lock assembly.

INSTALLATION

1. Place the steering column shaft with steering wheel lock in position. Connect the connector to the ignition switch. Ensure that the steering column

shaft fits in the lower bearing in the steering column assembly and sticks out approximately. 3O mm so that the universal joint can be fitted.

2. Fit the transversal bolt together with handle and washers.

Tightening torques: 20 Nm (15 ft. lbs.)

3. Fasten the circlip at the lower end of the steering column shaft.
4. Fit the universal joint between the steering column shaft and the intermediate shaft. Ensure that the bolt in the lower pinch bolt clamp is pulled

below the stop lug at the intermediate shaft end. Adjust the play between the universal joint and the steering column shaft.
Tightening torques: 27 Nm (20 ft. lbs.)
The play should be 3 - 5 mm (O.12 - 0.20 inch).

5. Fasten the floor ducts.
6. Fit the acoustic insulation under the facia.
7. Fit the mounting with dip switch. Pay attention to the adjustment of the horizontal position of the mounting.
8. Connect the connector to the dip switch.
