2 Stage Governor

NOTE:  Component identifier numbers used in the following illustrations relate to specific steps in the procedures below.

Disassembly

1. Undo the four screws and part the governor housing, stages 1 and 2, from the hub.

Wrench size = TORX socket - TX 27

2. Dismantle stage 1 .

Withdraw the stop plate and press out the control plunger for stage 1.

3. Dismantle stage 2.

Press down the spring using a screwdriver and remove the plate, control spring and control plunger for stage 2.

4. Check if the steel seal and both the rubber seals are damaged. Change them if necessary.

Check that all moving parts move freely. If there are scratches which cause moving parts to seize, these scratches must be removed or the
scratched part be changed. Alternatively, the entire governor may be changed.
