Throttle Valve Cable/Linkage: Adjustments
Kick-Down Cable Without Traction Control System (TCS)

NOTE:  Component identifier numbers used in the following illustrations relate to specific steps in the procedures below.

1. Detach the bellows from the throttle body and move to one side.
2. Depress the throttle arm to kick-down position and insert adjustment tool No. 87 91 980, or equivalent, into the throttle body.

The "UP" mark should be aligned against the cast partition in the throttle body.

3. Undo the stop nut on the kick-down cable and pull the casing until wide open throttle position can be felt.

Wide open throttle position is felt just before the kick-down position.

NOTE:  Some cars have two stop nuts.

4. Tighten the stop nut while holding the casing in wide open throttle position.
5. Depress the throttle arm and remove the tool from the throttle body.

Carefully move back the throttle arm.

6. Install the bellows to the throttle body.
